How to Make Fruit Leathers

Summertime is here…
and quarantine bread just isn’t going to cut it anymore. I’m a big fan of fruit leathers aka fruit roll-ups. They were a huge part of my childhood. So when I saw influencer annvrichards post her recipe, I wanted to try them. This recipe is all of my favorite things: easy, delicious, and healthy. Seriously, what’s not to love?! Plus the added nostalgia is a summer bonus. This recipe was in very high demand on my socials. So stop what you’re doing, get your favorite fruit, and get ready to make fruit leathers!
Ingredients:
2 pints of fresh strawberries
A squeeze of lemon or lime juice
Honey, agave, or any sweetener you like to taste
Silicone mat
Cookie sheet
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 170 degrees.
Puree the strawberries in a blender. Add a squeeze of lemon or lime juice. Blend. Then add sweetener to taste. If the fruit is really ripe, you won’t need much!
Lay a silicone mat on your cookie sheet. Pour mixture onto the silicone mat and spread in an even layer. Use 1/2 of the mixture per cookie sheet.
Bake in the oven for 4 hours, rotating the pan half way through.
*Substitute strawberries for any fruit you like! Feel free to use frozen fruit as well, just thaw it out real good before use.
